How ScanTrack formed MOCCA
SPOSS (Smart Point of Sale System) was initially developed in 1996 – and we are proud to say that SPOSS was one of the FIRST locally developed, totally cashless canteen systems in South Africa.
ScanTrack was founded in October 1999 and in January 2000 acquired the Intellectual Property rights to SPOSS. The main focus of the company is the development and sale of IT solutions.
All the software development takes place in South Africa by South Africans and South Africa will remain the source of all new software for the group. It is the policy of the group to set up joint ventures around the world and make alliances where deemed beneficial.
ScanTrack currently has a range of product lines that are used in various industries ranging from Corporate Canteen Management, Restaurant POS, School Tuckshop POS and Asset Management. The company has over two hundred installations at which various ScanTrack software products are installed and a major portion of these sites are run on 24/7 basis requiring a high degree of reliability of software and IT infrastructure.
In 2009, we found that we have developed so many additional modules for SPOSS, that it is not a “Point of Sale” system any longer, and we decided to re-brand the product to MOCCA (Management of Cash and Cashless Canteen Accounts).
